One of few reasons I sometimes wish I'd gone to UW

Here are some lovely pictures we took when we went to study at UW this weekend:

Aren't these trees just beautiful! I would get married under these trees if I had gone to UW. But I went to WSU, and no, I will not get married by the big blue heart!

P.S. Hudson Andrew Bloom was born this morning at 5:01 am. He is 6 lb 4 oz, 19.5 in long, has light brown hair and a dimple in his chin and I'm so happy for Suzie and Andy I don't even know what to do with myself :)

P.P.S. Joy and Dan were due to have little Hayden last Friday but he seems content in Mama Joy's tummy, for now...

Orlando Themepark Extravaganza - In Pictures

Orlando was AWESOME! Without further ado, here are some of the highlights:

Marmaduke taking me for a walk

Two of the coolest kids in the whole world, Melissa and Tim,
in Jurassic Park at Universal's Islands of Adventure

Phil trying a new look

Oh yes, the four of us were randomly selected to dress up like Jesters and toss Mardi Gras beads into the crowd during the Parade at Universal Studios...nice scheme to get free labor ;)

Main Street in the Magic Kingdom...there are no words for how awesome that place is

It's a small world after all, it's a small world after all,

it's a small world after all, it's a small, small world :)

The cousins dinking around on Tom and Huck's Island

Exploring the Swiss Family Robinson treehouse

A lovely foot massage to start off a new day...did I mention how cool these kids are?

Tasting the sodas of the world at Epcot

Kodak moment with the ball in the background

Fireworks and laser show at Epcot, seen from "Japan"

A drizzly day at Seaworld, but...

...it meant short lines for the rides...we rode Kraken 4 times!

Feeding the dolphins and wishing I could take one home with me

One of Shamu's tricks

The four of us at Seaworld

Pretty sunset

Waiting for the stunt show to start

Garsh Mickey, ga-heeeelt!

Weekend Recap

We had a fun-filled weekend so I thought I'd tell you all about it with pictures we took! Phil's friend from college, Erinna, came up for a visit Wednesday through Saturday so we showed her the sights and I had a good time ganging up on Phil with her...she's so good at knocking him down a few pegs ;)
Here they are at the beach in Mukilteo on Thursday night:

Phil got off work early on Friday and took Erinna downtown to Pike Place Market, the Space Needle, Nordstrom, and REI. Here's an awesome picture Phil took of the EMP:

When I got off work I rode the bus down to meet them (I know, how bad ass am I to use public transportation!?) and we had some delicious pho for dinner and bubble tea for dessert in the International District. Then we drove up to that huge hospital on the hill just southeast of the city where Phil took this amazing shot...notice the effect he got on I-5:

Saturday morning Phil took us for a flight and I took about a billion pictures. Here are a couple of the better ones...

Phil teaching Erinna how to do the pre-flight inspection:

Seattle skyline with the Olympic Mountains in the background:

The breath-taking Puget Sound...how many of us PS natives take this scenery for granted?

Seattle misted over with the Cascades in the background:
Boeing twin-aisle manufacturing plant...the largest building in the world by volume. I work in a crusty old bunker that's hiding behind the factory. In the bottom right of the picture you'll see the "Dreamlifter"...a modified 747 freighter used to transport large 787 parts from Asia. Raise your hand if you've seen this eyesore flying around. The good news is that's its still better looking than Airbus' "Beluga".
After our flight we headed back down to the International District for some delicious, yet not exactly healthy, Dim Sum. The unhealthy eating continued when we ferried over to Bainbridge Island and had some ice cream at Mora in Winslow and then a pastry from the Scandinavian bakery in Poulsbo. Oh well...what are weekends for? Here's a shot of Phil and I on the ferry:

After Bainbridge Island we took the long way back to Seattle (Bremerton, Tacoma, etc.) and dropped Erinna off at the airport. I think she had a good time, but we tired her out and she seemed ready to go home ;)

Later that night, Phil and I met up with some friends at McMenamin's where I had a belated St. Pat's Day Irish Car Bomb...tasty! We worked some overtime on Sunday and then saw Duplicity with Julia Roberts and Clive Owen...pretty good movie, but not one you necessarily need to see in theaters.

So that pretty much wraps up the weekend. I'm sure I'll have more pictures in the next couple weeks as my sistah is in town :)

Have a good week everyone!
